<p>What is the Greek life like at cmu?</p>
<p>somewhere inbetween harvey mudd (see: nonexistent) and vanderbilt (see: 70% greek campus). we have several active frats, including Pike (Pi Kap), Phi Kap, Sig Ep, Sig Nu, Beta, and others. There is a “nerd frat” called Sig Tau, an “asian frat” (Lambda), and AEPi (Alpha Epsilon Pi) is the “jewish frat.” AEPi is a dry frat, so if you’re into that, there’s the option for you. </p>
<p>As for sororities, there’s Delta Gamma and Kappa, which are the two big ones. KDPhi is the asian sorority. AXO (Alpha Chi Omega) is considered the nerdier of the sororities. </p>
<p>In terms of party life, there’s always something going on, and if you poke around facebook and friend the right people it’s probable that you’ll get invites to everything and be updated pretty well on what’s going on. All the rumors that CMU has no social life are, I’m glad to say, entirely false. We party pretty hard sometimes.</p>

<p>Seriously though, I wouldn’t say thats accurate for the majority (but just barely) of the members.</p>
<p>There are five panhel sororities, Theta(Kappa Alpha Theta), DG (Delta Gamma), Kappa (Kappa Kappa Gamma), TriDelt(Delta Delta Delta), and A Chi O (Alpha Chi Omega)
They are stereotyped by, Theta is known for being the prettiest. DG is known for being the hardest partiers. There are some others like A Chi O for being weird and TriDelt for being smart…</p>
<p>As for fraternities, there are too many, pike would be like your other college typical fraternity</p>
<p>Hey, don’t blame me, blame the stereotype! You sig taus have a rep for being the KGB/Magic the Gathering/LAN party type 
Then again, I know a white kid in the asian frat and a non-jewish kid in the jewish frat, so the stereotypes definitely don’t hold for the whole frat!</p>
<p>Pike, like Cahier said, is definitely the most mainstream college frat. Filled with wealthy little snots and cheap beer. They almost lost their house this year due to someone dying of apparent alcohol intoxication over break, but I’m pretty sure they’re sticking around (anyone know for sure?)</p>
