Out of curiousity, what is the riding like at Greek Peak? Where is the best snowboarding near Ithaca?

I have been snowboarding once while here ...

... mostly due to a lack of experience (I have a snowboard, my gf took me ... it was quite fun and I am looking for a new snowboard to buy to go more often).

I can't compare greek peak to other places for skiing/snowboarding since i've never been to any other places. At Greek Peak, there were many "levels" of available courses to take. Despite the fact that it was a glorious day out, there wern't any crazy lines or anything. I have no complaints of the condition of the snow or anything, all seemed fine from my un-professional eye.

The best advantage Greek Peak has is its price for Cornell students: I paid almost 50 bucks for a day pass while my girlfriend purchased a season pass through Cornell for only $129. There is a bus on the weekend that takes Cornell students to and from the mountain. If you have a car you can go even more often making the season pass a steal for students.

greek peak is a fun little place. you can ski all season for 129 bucks. their park is actually decent in terms of rails, and it's a great deal to be able to go after class and ride for a couple hours. it's no killington, but the conditions are comperable to any other northeastern resort. It usually stays cold so they can make a lot of snow there.

If you wanted to take a weekend trip you could hit anywhere in the northeast up as far as Jay Peak/Stowe/Sunday River (probably wouldn't want to go so far as tremblant) so that's pretty much everything. The ski club runs sweet trips to places ranging from Tremblant, QC to Whistler, BC to Chamonix, France.
