How big is the Greek System at JHU? I really like the idea of an inclusive campus like Harvard.

i'm not sure how "big" they are in terms of size. however, there is definately a greek presence on campus since they are where most of the parties are at. sorry to say, but some of them are a bit lame...

none the less, i think they are fairly active with activities and what not on campus. they appear to be quite forthcoming to those interested in joining.

What do you mean by an inclusive campus? Sorry for not understanding.

When I was there, the two students I met who were in sororities said that sororities did not define anyone, as it's depicted in the movies. Plus, there is no hazing. Silly Hollywood drama. Anyhow, I think only about a quarter of students are involved with Greek life. That statistic was somewhere in some Hopkins guide. Greek life does sound interesting though, especially minus the hazing.

About 25-30% of Hopkins undergrads are in one of the 13 official fraternities or 9 sororities. The number of students in the Greek system has grown a bit over the past few years, but probably will never get highers than about 1/4 to 1/3 of the students. They are very accepting of students and are a great option is that is what you want to do in college. But if you don't, there are an amazing array of groups to join and things to do to remain social.
