Hi. I'm applying to the Grier School. Can anyone tell me anything about daily life, the girls, the dorms, the academics, the teachers, et cetera? I'd really appreciate it. Can you also tell me what my chances of getting accepted are? I have a 3.5 GPA, I've published several original short stories and poems in my school's literary magazines and I've won many writing competitions, but besides that, I'm not very involved in outside activities. I just don't have the opportunity. That's one of my main concerns. Anyway, if anyone could answer these questions, it would be extremely helpful.

My daughter did a summer show team session at Grier for three weeks a few years ago. Such a nice school, although you can’t walk to town. It is gorgeous though. On the way to the schoolthere is a sign for another school called Boogerstown or something. We howled. It is not too far from State College. Grier has a great arts program and a great riding program. The dorms were HOT on the third floor. Bring a fan. The beds were foam pads over wood, so also bring a mattress topper. Dorm rooms are not big. I will say the buildings are traditional and comfortable. The food is amazing. There is one student hut which is a hangout with a tv and couches and they have a snack bar where they make bubble tea. It is like a cool coffee shop. Good luck!! Oh and all the girls were nice. Many counselors were students and they are all still in touch. The headmaster sat with us at mealtime and was so sweet, it really was very much like a cozy family.
