Anyone get a merit scholarship from Grinnell?
Reddit - Dive into anything here you go
I got $21,000 (Founder’s scholarship) then the rest of my demonstrated need in grant aid.
Got in!
International student
Intended major CS
For the record and for the benefit of next year’s students, Grinnell announced RD at 4 pm on March 12th, 2021.
Waitlisted Somewhat surprised as I got into a number of much more competitive schools. But it’s ok, I’ve already committed to my dream school - Cambridge University (in the U.K.).
I got in as an international student.
My FA: 44000
yes, they gave me $28k/year! :))
My college counselor just told me that their admit rate was around 10% this year… I can’t find any numbers to confirm this yet (maybe someone else can) but that would be pretty amazing if it was. My guess would be that this is based on them having so many more applicants but still having to admit the same number of students (as I’m sure is the case with almost all colleges this admissions cycle).
Not to mention the spots taken up by the larger-than-usual number of gap year students from last year.
Not doubting it, but just out of curiosity, how does your college counselor know?
I got 28,000 founders scholarship
Same here
Not 100% sure, but I know that she’s been in contact with the school this past week through advocacy calls, etc., so something could have come up in conversation like “we’re so far seeing only about 10% of applicants admitted because of the huge surge this year.” Again, I’m not 100% sure and this isn’t an official figure. We’ll just have to wait a few weeks until the official numbers get posted for the 2021 cycle to know for sure.
My daughter get in with $26k scholarship, but we also want need-based aid, who knows when?
If you applied for financial aid, I think that your need-based grants should already be up in the financial aid portal. At least that’s what I have.
Please I am an international student. I am on waitlist though. Please what were your stats.
