Likely letters are used by colleges to notify top applicants that they intend to accept them come spring, Grinnell one-ups this by admitting some of their top applicants ahead of time
Thanks! I appreciate the help!
Our son got in RD early too - a really wonderful surprise to get the news on Feb. 13!
Does anyone know how many students get the early notice for RD in February as opposed to March? Should my son just give up on Grinnell now if he didn’t get that “likely” acceptance or whatever it is?
Absolutely not, the early acceptance is for tip-top students, like their top 5%. There’s still a very good chance for your son
I also think they let some us know early so that we can attend the earlier admitted students day (this sunday and monday)
Am I the only international applicant in this thread Anyways, my hope is shambling seeing you guys’ early acceptance.
You’re not alone #:-S
Don’t worry about it! The vast majority of people who will be accepted weren’t accepted early! You definitely still have a shot
Does Grinnell send out email or letter acceptances? And if so, when should we be expecting them??
^^^Last year, they sent out “check your portal” emails.
I was accepted RD early a few weeks ago and got an email first!
Website says “late March” which is what I recall from last year (my kid heard 3/18). There’s usually a thread here on CC logging expected notification dates for a lot of schools. And yes, it was an email with a portal notification, followed by a letter. If a few folks are hearing earlier, that’s most likely due to special circumstances. The majority are notified at the same time.
My brother goes to Grinnell and knows people in admissions. He said that the decisions would be out March 17th, or next Friday! Good luck everyone!!
I received an acceptance in December. Lmk if anyone wants stats
So we should be expecting results tomorrow everyone! Good luck! International from Egypt here
@Kimo212 I haven’t been active on this thread, so could you tell me if there’s any reason to believe it’s tomorrow?
Similar time to last year + the claim from another poster who has a connection to admissions (in short, nothing 100% clear cut but solid basis for assumption)
Well, it’d be great to have more credible sources I guess. Still worth a shot if some student’s brother who actually studies there can verify it.
Hoping it’s 17th
C’mon Grinnell
