flyguy64: Haha, I should try that. I definitely need to score 2200+ in October.

Shazilla: You read my iPod! Good music.

How do you guys listen to music when you study? I can understand doing math. But what about reading and studying vocab? Can you really cocentrate with music?

the trick here for me is that i can only listen to music i've heard before and know well. that music i can block out sufficiently to study. but if i listen to new music, i find myself trying to figure out the words, what it means, etc.etc. i just don't care when i've listened to the song a hundred times before.

i like listening to foreign music (preferably japanese) while studying b/c it's not distracting and i can't understand it. it also blocks out other distracting noises (i.e. people talking)

I listen mostly to death metal while I am studying... I don't like listening to loud music though, so its usually rather quiet (as in you can't hear it if you are more than 6 feet from the computer). While working on my programming homework yesterday I went through every single Bolt Thrower album in one sitting. Then I decided it was time to take a break!

Wow, I actually think it's really hard to read while listening to music though writing and doing math just passes by so nicely. Don't really know why.

what works the best for me is to throw some "postal service" on really low to where you can barely hear it...any type of loud music distracts me when im studying....

other good stuff like jack johnson, jacks mannequin, death cab for cutie is pretty good to study to too

another thing if youve ever heard of em moneen is absolute fuel for studying....just not exactly something you wanna leave playing while your trying to study though
