Groton, Deerfield, Exeter, Andover, Chatham, Stoneleigh

The schools listed above as well as 2 Canadian schools are on the list of possible schools.

Grades all A's except gym which is a B

sports are swimming and equestrian

not taken ssat yet but practice test estimates 95 % as do other previous standardised tests.

community service and other interests include helping at the local food bank and fishing tournament, and gardening /green projects

possible hooks - Native American
status - Canadian / US dual citizen lives in Canada
going against - need a great deal of financial aid

what are the chances?

I would think being Native American would be an attractive hook for many schools- definitely an URM! And the fact that you are a dual citizen might also help you receive aid as much more aid is available for US citizens than foreigners at US schools. I would ask about AID during school visits. Good luck!

Hi MAbound,

My son, also Canadian was either rejected or waitlisted at Groton, Deerfield, Exeter, Andover. We did not apply to Chatham or Stoneleigh, I don’t really know anything about these two schools.

My kid has similar qualifications to yours, all A’s, swimming, fluent in 3 languages, did international exchange, attended BS summer camp, got many great recommendations.

My kid does not have US citizenship and he is not Native American, so this can be your hook I guess. We did not ask for any financial aids.

If I were you, I’d probably apply to more schools. Good luck!

@2Be,

Good thing your S didn’t apply to Chatham or Stoneleigh; he would have gotten rejected there… ;)
