I'm sort of on the fence about Gruber's Math WB and I was wondering how many people used it and what they thought about it. Did it help or hurt you in any way? Was it accurate? Also should I get the WB or the complete guide?

Also I've heard about Mr. Chung and I heard that its better so any thoughts on that too. I got 550 on a Kaplan practice test but when I take the practice test in the Blue Book, I get all the easy questions right, at least 1 medium question wrong and all of the hard questions (last 4 questions) wrong. I just need help, badly. Also how much does each book cost, because I don't want to spend over $20-25 on it.

(I know there are probably other threads about this but I just wanted to start another one more convenient for me.)

I got my Gruber’s Complete Math Workbook from Amazon for about 10.00, 2 days ago. It’s really helpful and it shows a bunch of different ways on solving a problem. the highest i’ve scored on math section is about a 570 on the actual SAT, but on the practice with Gruber’s, im scoring in the mid to high 600s. It’s really helpful, i recommend it if you’re getting 550s. Alot of people on CC also use(d) gruber’s and they say its terrific, but only for math.

I just wanted to tell you that when ccers refer to grubers they are talking about the complete guide NOT the math workbook lol
I made that mistake and wasted 15 dollars :
the math workbook is filled with really basic problems
gl :)

I think the Gruber’s Math WB is really good! I bought it on Amazon for about $10 and although it has a lot of simple and basic problems I can easily do, it teaches a lot of ways (and faster ways!) to solve them. If you’re reluctant to buy it because of it’s simplicity and its basic problems, don’t hesitate, because it will still most likely improve your score! I for SURE recommend it to anyone!
It also has a pretty big font so you don’t fall asleep
Oh, and I think that the Gruber’s Math was better than the Grubers complete SAT book. Just FYI! Good luck!!

Are you serious? Why didn’t anyone tell me this before… I was wondering why everyone kept recommending Gruber’s for math only to buy a book filled with what’s basically a state standardized test review. Or at least from what I’ve worked through so far…

From what I can tell, Gruber’s may be a better bet for you. It’s really for those of us wanting to improve from like a 500 to a 700. Chung’s is more advanced for those tough problems determining a 750 and a 780.
