gtown school change

i checked on all my forms sfs

but i changed my mind and i want to do faculty of languages and linguistics

can i still do this
(im sending app in tomorrow)

I wouldn't recommend it. You would have to write a new essay, and each school asks for different teacher recs (I think). It would be easier to wait, and if you're accepted, transfer over the summer. I would imagine it's easier to transfer out of the SFS than into it.

word, thanks

But Faculty of Languages and Lingusitics is SO MUCH easier to get into. If you can swing the change in a day, I'd do it!

It is not "SO MUCH" easier to get into, the difference is marginal.

I didn't mean to offend anyone. It's a great program. Some of the languages tend to be undersubscribed and a major in one of those can boost your admissions chances considerably. It's all good.

I'm in SFS so it didn't offend me, don't trip.

I want to transfer to Georgetown to major in Arabic. Will this help me?

Is Arabic undersubscribed?

Arabic is the new "fad" language...everyone is taking it. I don't think the FLL is any easier to get into, because it's so much smaller, and language classes have limited caps on enrollment (less than 18, sometimes less than 10), in comparison to the huge 300 person IR lectures. But if you call up the admissions office, you can tell them you want to switch, but if you're just doing it to help your chances, it won't work.
