Hello All, After completing my college application process for the early action deadlines, I have nothing left to do but pray and have other people on this site tell me what they think about college admissions. Right now, I'm really anxious and need some reprieve from this whole process. I was just wondering what my chances are of getting in to my top 4 schools: Georgetown, Yale, Emory, and UChicago. I'm also trying to figure out if I should apply anywhere else, or if I'm safe with these schools. Here are my credentials: 34 ACT (no writing) 700 Reading SAT 720 Math SAT 780 Writing SAT 740 Literature SAT2 760 Chemistry SAT2 780 Math1 SAT2 I've taken each test exactly once. Grades: 6/420 class rank 4.904/4.000 weighted GPA IB Student (have the toughest workload of nearly anyone in my school) Other info.: White; extracurriculars include soccer (15 hrs./week, plan to play Varsity in college), science team, fishing; very Christian, involved in church; I feel very comfortable and happy with the essays I've done for the colleges. Thanks for your input, and if I'm missing anything, please let me know. I'm really nervous and excited, and would just like to know what people think my chances are. Also, I'm looking to go into business. Any suggestions on which school would be best for me?

Other EC activities include refereeing soccer on the weekends, Mu Alpha Theta, Dead Poet’s Society (founder and VP). I also skipped a grade (16 yr. old senior), am a national merit semi-finalist (finalist status pending), National Honors Society member, and play more soccer than anyone I know (travel an average of 10-12 hours a week for soccer, and play about 6-8 hours a week). My club team is 8th in the nation, and High School team was ranked 1 in the nation until our last game (we’re now about 15th). Furthermore, am I safe with the four schools I’ve applied to, or should I apply elsewhere?

Hey,the academics look good but the SATs are around the mid 50%. Especially for Yale. I’m thinking it is your reach right? The ECs look good but it all comes down to how you present it and how good your essays are It’ll be great if you can boost your SAt a bit by sitting again if you really want to secure it.

Well, I’m really relying on the 34 ACT (not sure if they have those where you’re from). I’m in the top 25% range for the ACT’s, so I’m hoping that they do the trick. Also, I’ve got a bit of support from the soccer coach at Yale (he can’t guarantee an admissions spot, but he’s putting in a word for me). Yale is my reach, but I’m kinda going back and forth between Yale and Georgetown as my top choice.

U can probably get in to all 4 but u still need saftey schools

People don’t see that when you are scoring 34+ on the ACT, your test score is no different than a 36. If you barely have better ECs than someone with a 36, you have a better chance of acceptance
