Anyone here with a guaranteed transfer to cornell? ie. you can go to cornell after one/two years at another college. Which school in cornell? Did you apply? Get accepted? whats your story...
thanks

i am going to ILR as a GT in 07. i applied regular decision and received a letter back saying that i need to complete a year at a different college or university before transferring to Cornell in 07.

^ same story

Most the transfers you'll be with next year will be in the ILR school, which is awesome. Not sure what the living situation is going to be yet, but the transfers this year is trying to hammer out a deal for you guys who are coming in next year.

i haven't applied to cornell before, but am looking into ILR and will probably apply as a sophomore transfer. can you guys tell me where i stand on admission considering the abundance of GTs?

i went to a public hs in new york, currently attending an honors program at a city school. okay avg in hs.. (92/100)--top 9% of senior class of 800+ students. i took two APs junior year, 3 senior year but scored mediocre to terrible.

SAT: 700V 800M 750W
SAT II: 700+ in math ic, iic, spanish, physics

i didn't really have great e.c.'s in hs. i'm pretty sure ill be able to complete a well-written essay. the only thing that concerns me is the AP scores..IS IT NECESSARY TO SEND THEM? i really don't want to..as they are killing me. also.. i took calc bc and got a 3..so im taking calc.I now and i won't be getting an A (my own lazy mistake). other than that, i should be getting an A in all my other classes which are honors. im guessing first semester gpa will be about 3.75+ ?

THiNK i STAND A CHANCE @ Industrial and Labor Relations?

Ya, I think you stand a chance

Earn a high GPA and write flawless essays that focus on the match between you and the ILR school. If you can do this and build a solid application, I think you have a great shot at getting in. Perhaps try attending transfer day in early november. Feel free to ask specific questions, I'm quite knowledgeable (sp?) on the topic.

thanks for the replies.

i'm still worried about the AP scores. when i list them, do i write each one i've taken (i took 5 exams)?

and yes i would like to attend transfer day in november but the problem is i don't drive..and don't know anyone who would be willing to for 5 hours. does anyone know the percentage of transfers who are guaranteed? i have a feeling that 70% of transfer students are GTs. which..in my case, will make for a tough admission. thanks

I'm in the same situation as you biggyboy. I'm don't drive either and I'd be coming to transfer day from Boston. While attending transfer day in November would probably give a real idea of how ILR works and help in writing a better essay, there is another transfer day in March, which if you attend, would also show interest before a decision has been made on your application.
