Guaranteed Transfer- Cornell

I've got a guaranteed transfer from Cornell, for fall 2013. Their only condition is that I should study at an American University and get a 3.0 GPA. The GPA is not an issue, but I'm currently confused between INDIANA UNIVERSITY BLOOMINGTON and UC DAVIS.
Any other guaranteed transfer students here?
Where are you guys going?

New York University.

Which program in Cornell are you applying?
I am hotel…

Go to whichever is cheaper or will be cheaper depending on how the transfer credits work (I’m not really sure outside of engineering). You are going to be getting a degree for Cornell in the end…

ILR, American University in DC. Hope I don’t get a grade less than a B fingers crossed

Go to Indiana; their basketball team is going to be unreal this year so at least you will have a chance to see some quality college basketball before you transfer to the Ivy League.

You should, ideally, pick a school where you will do well. Additionally, you should pick a school where you will be happy for four years if you have a rough transition to college and don’t do as well as you want in your first semester. And then, be prepared to hit the ground running and study hard!

How can I apply for this?? I’m also considering Applying there along with my Cali
Schools.

How do you get guaranteed transfer to Cornell? How many years do you have to spend at the other schools?
I would lean towards UC Davis. Just because it is in California.

You are given the GT when you apply to be admitted: this is not to say you apply for the gt, they simply give it to you as opposed to an acceptance.

Anyway I’m a GT and I am going to Udel this fall and I just wanted to wish all of my fellow Gt’s good luck during the year and hopefully we can all stay in touch during this process on these boards. Keep in touch, and hopefully we’ll all be seeing each other in Ithaca in 2013.

So it is basically a conditional acceptance? Congrats to everyone who is a GT then, you essentially made it into Cornell barring any unforseen events in the next year!

I’m a GT for the ILR school. Have you guys been contacted yet by the school? I sent in the forms but haven’t heard back yet.

I believe the packet said late June they would contact us… but I could be wrong. I’m going to contact our transfer counselor, Ian, though just to be certain all my classes are fine that I’m signing up for in mid-June.

Hello all. I just wanted to hop and say that I got a GT from The College of Human Ecology. For any of you who have received GTs/TOs from Cornell want to stay in touch with other GTs/TOs, I made a facebook page for the Class of 2016 GTs to Cornell. The link to it is here https://www.facebook.com/groups/225400717560893/</a> . I feel like it’ll be much easier to communicate throughout our respective school years this way. Anyways, good luck to all! :D

Can waitlistees also given the GT join? If I don’t get in, I’m definitely going to do the GT.

Also, what are the required classes for ILR to get in as a GT? The university I committed to is starting class registration and I don’t want to wait until I get the packet (considering I don’t get in this year).

Guys, it might be a good idea to make the Facebook group as private as possible (possibly a secret group?). Some of us would rather not let people or our college know that we’re thinking of leaving :P

@ilyatx no worries it’s open for now but when the fall semester starts I’m going to make it secret, I just want to get a good amount of people to find it/join first

So, if you’re a guaranteed transfer, are you still required to do the 8 semesters in the ILR school? Are ap credits considered part of the transcript from the transferring school? This would seem a wonderful way to save a ton of money!

“Are ap credits considered part of the transcript from the transferring school?”

^This is exactly what I was wondering yesterday. My first year school accepts a 3 for AP Calc AB but won’t give me credit for it (I’ll just be exempt from the math requirement). Will Cornell make me do math later on once I transfer? I don’t know my score yet, but this is assuming I get a 3 and not a 4 or 5.
