guaranteed Transfer decision date

question: if you get GT, can you just go to a community college, or do you need to go to a 4-year college? Thanks!

You need to go to a 4 year college

you can also go to a two-year college and get an associates degree. some people do that, but i would recommend going to a four-year college that has a program that's really similar to the one you want to do at cornell because then your credits will transfer easily.

for all my CALS peeps still waiting, I share your pain. Roots, I know how you feel about the gpa thing, I failed a required class (retook and got a B, long story) and I have the 3.306 gpa but I just feel so nervous. Let's all say a prayer that we get in.

does anyone else's "check application status" have something that looks like this at the bottom:

"Please submit your required Cornell Supplement as soon as possible."

i submitted everything, and i know i did, i paid 10 bucks for priority mail for that first form to go the the application processing center to make sure it got there. do you think that that is just a general statement that they are saying to everyone? because none of the boxes are unchecked on the checklist thing also

yeah mine has that too. i think it's just a general thing. b/c i know i got everything in on time.

I don't have that on mine.. I am for college of engineering though

okay does anyone from the CALS GT actually know when we are going to get the decision? because this is really making me mad.

god if i knew...

Still no news. I think I'm getting anal with this whole refresh and refresh page thing.

Hey since you guys are obviously experienced...from one future GT to one who's already lived in the shoes I'll soon be wearing...what did you do about a foreign language freshman year? As I remember I don't think it mentioned anything about a language in the GT letter but if I do end up in International Relations (which is one of my choices) I will need to take one. Even if I just study abroad I will need to. Did you guys take a foreign language (freshman year)...and if so was it easy to fit into your schedual? (p.s. I'm an ILR GT)

I took Japanese this year, but seeing as it was already part of the university requirement to take something outside my major, there was already time set aside for such extra classes and it was quite easy to fit into my schedule. Not sure if that helped, sorry!

No it did. I had been thinking of taking Italian so that I could travel to Italy and learn a new (fun?) language. But then in the back of my head I think that I should take Chinese since China is going to run business when it comes to foreign affairs...ugh choices

Haha we're going OT with this, but anyhoos, let me just say that it might be a better bet following your true interests and taking Italian... it always works out in the end. Sometimes it's good to let the heart rule for a bit.

nm...........

anyone find out yet?

rejected.

got an email from CALS. they didn't like some of bio classes because they were not "intro bio-enough"

whatever. screw 'em. i love dickinson so it's fine with me!

good luck to y'all.

Wait... you were a GT and you were rejected? That sucks...

If you were GT did you ask them before hand if those courses would count? Just need to know before I make my schedual. Sorry to hear about the rejection...don't worry you'll have fun and do well wherever you go!

i thought gt is guaranteed as long as ur gpa is straight! im sorry about ur rejection though
