Really excellent recommendations...a world-famous physisist/nun who taught HIMPT and AP Calc, my principle who has a PhD from Harvard and teaches my Bioethics Class, and my English III teachers who is a great writer and absolutely loves me. All talk about my passion to think philosophically and to understand concepts, not just memorize them. Also described as one of my school's "finest young men". I loved that part. Line up perfectly with what Bard claims they are looking for.

My common app essay is a personal reflection on why I chose psychology/philosophy...about a friend who I tried to help but ended up in rehab, and how I want to reconcile myself by helping others. My other essay was about an arguement between my mother and I over applying to Bard.

Filled out recruitment forms for Rugby at Bard and have emailed with a few players.

Took a tour and filled out papers there.

Your EC's are pretty interesting (Sweet that you're a drummer...I'm a guitarist) and might heighten your chances, but the GPA seems a little low. Class rank is in the top 20th percent I'm assuming, considering our school has 185 seniors and the cut off for top 20 is 36. Good ACTS, and fair SATS, but Bard doesn't count SATs anyway so you're pretty much off the hook if you're unhappy with your scores.

Good first term GPA....I WISH YOU LUCK! I'm applying there and I just finished the additional essay and I'm sending it out now.

Btw, have you visited? What is Bard like, because it's the only school on my list that I haven't gotten the chance to see yet. :)

i think you have a really good chance! good luck.

but why do you go to a catholic school?

The public school in my town is terrrrrible. It's even at risk of losing acredidation, or however you spell it. It was my best alternative.

50/50 between accepted and deferred, IMO

50/50 is good enough for me. I wish I had tried a bit harder...boo.

The letter will come today or tomorro. Ahhh!

I'd probably say you have a 80% chance of being admitted...15% chance of being deffered/admitted, 5% rejected.

You have a very good chance at Bard.

Well...

...I got in!

mazal tov!

Congratulations!

I was actually thinking Bard at one point (I'm probably going to double major in political science and creative writing [Bard's specialty]), but, I realized that as a moderate to slightly conservative Democrat, Bard wouldn't exactly accept me.

Congrats!!!!! :)

I bet you'll sleep better for the next week...great present.
