Yay I finally got to find out. And those are some awesome acceptances.

Claremont Mckenna is a great school. I only got 7 out of 12 right. Rice and Colgate took me for a spin.

country: Yea, Colgate surprised & humored me. Rice really disappointed me, I really liked it when I visited (though, it was also my first real college visit). I was kinda surprised by Rice, considering they were expanding their class size this year, so the acceptance rate went up. I think I should’ve gotten a WL at least. Oh well–maybe my suspension hurt me. I just wish I could’ve seen the same schools’ admission decisions if my suspension were not there. That’s the only thing that probably held me back.

Mind if I ask why you wouldn’t choose Vanderbilt?

A few reasons:

Financial Aid Package:
Vandy == I’d have to pay 10k per year
CMC == I’d have to pay 3k per year

Atmosphere:
Vandy == Seemed segregated. Frats seemed overwhelming
CMC == Very integrated, people of different ethnicities seemed to interact more.
Both == A lot of parties. Which actually was somewhat of a turnoff, but at least they aren’t over obsessed with schoolwork.

Location/weather:
Vandy == Southern (yuck) and Nashville (didn’t love the city). Not that great of weather
CMC == SoCal. Awesome weather. Near mountains and kinda near the beach!

Other:
Vandy == Ehh, nothing else really
CMC == focuses on the things I like. Has paid internship, travel, and volunteer opportunities.

Financial aid was a huge factor, but if Vandy would have been considerably better than CMC, I would have been willing to pay more. However, I still liked CMC better (aside from finaid).
