Hello,
If you are a sophomore at Michigan State, are you allowed to take a class as a guest student at Lansing Community College (while attending this.)
Just to clarify, this would involve me being a regular michigan state student, taking 12 credits for example, while simulatneously taking a 4 credit class one-day a week at LCC. I understand that the LCC grade would not transfer but that the grade would.
I know this is done over the summer all the time, but I would like to know whether this would be allowed fall term, while already a fall student. Please dont respond by asking why I would want to do that, as that is simply another conversation entirely. If you are aware of their policy on this though, or if you or someone you know has done this, please chime in. Thanks in advance guys! :)

Over 300 views and no responses, c’mon guys help a fella out! :)

… most people don’t know the answer. They wouldn’t unless they’ve actually done it.

But yes, it carries. I did this (not LCC, but Schoolcraft) when I was a first year. You can do it up until you have like 56-60 credits, can’t remember the exact number. I HAD to do it first semester though or else it wouldn’t have transferred as I was a junior by my 2nd semester.

Romani,
Thats exactly the answer I was looking for thanks so much!
And FYI, I did not AT ALL mean to sound impatient with my last post, it was more of a bump and was just kind of being silly more than anything else.
Thanks again, this is very helpful to me!

Romani,
One more question. Does msu charge by the credit hour or the flat rate? My current school charges the exact same amount whether I take 12, or 18 credits (which I find odd). At msu, if i take 12 and u take 17, do I simply pay less $$?? I trying looking this up online, but only found what tuition would be for incoming freshman (I’m a Soph next year btw)

Soph and fresh tuition is the same. It’s per credit hour. Juniors and seniors have a higher rate.

Would someone please fill me in on this “guest student” option at msu? My grades were a bit less than I hoped and I’m doubting I’ll get accepted, but I’ve finished all of the classes for my major at LCC.

will, I don’t understand what you’re asking. The OP is discussing taking classes at LCC while enrolled at MSU.

If you’re not enrolled at MSU see here for more information:[Guest and Non-degree Students - Admission | Michigan State University Office of Admissions](http://admissions.msu.edu/admission/guest.asp)
