Michigan State University transfer fall 14 ...scared to get deferred to spring!

In my 2nd year at LCC, will have 71 credits at the end of this semester (65 transferable but obviously only 60 will transfer) and a general associate's degree. 3.1 cumulative..trending upwards (didn't do so well first year of college due to my mother being ill). Completed college algebra and the WRA requirement last year. Economics major (planning on transferring to broad after first semester at msu due to the fact that the computer concepts class at lcc doesn't transfer to state anymore..so I have to take it there first before applying to broad). This semester I should be able to bring my gpa up to 3.3-3.4. Applied in Feb..this was in my decision letter on March 27th:

"While your academic record would suggest that you have the ability to succeed at Michigan State, it appears that you have been working to establish a consistent trend and/or are currently completing required coursework. Therefore, the committee has determined that we would like to review your final grades for the current term before rendering a final decision."

The end of the semester is May 12th..I'm going to self report my grades as soon as possible but I'm somewhat worried that there won't be enough room for fall... or just worried in general I will get deferred to spring 15. I will still be very happy regardless, but I won't be able to take anymore credits at lcc as I will be well over 60. Don't know whether I would take classes at Davenport or something or what. The transfer policy as far as more than 60 credits from a 4-year institution is vague on the website and doesn't specify. When the admissions office reviews final semester grades..how likely would it be that I would be accepted for fall 14 as opposed to spring 15?

Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

Why can’t you continue to take classes at LCC? I know people with their Master’s who are taking classes at LCC lol.

If you do get derferred to spring, perhaps you can just take the semester off and work?

Only up to 60 credits from a 2-year institution will transfer. I can still take classes there but the credits won’t transfer. I’d prefer not to fall behind in terms of credits and not have to overwork myself to graduate in spring 2016. But if it happens and there’s a chance I will graduate a semester later then whatever.

Even if the credits don’t transfer, you can still get requirements out of the way- your ISB, ISP, ISS, language requirements, etc.

If you do get deferred and want to graduate on time, I’d suggest summer classes.

Accepted this morning for fall 14! ended spring term with a 3.9 gpa, brought my cumulative to a 3.35
