GW v UVA ... which is better?

GW and UVA are both my top school options, but I am having trouble figuring out which will be the best for me. If you have any information about the academics for either, please let me know.
I am specifically interested in which have better business programs, study abroad programs, or language learning programs.

Any and all info is welcome, including why you personally would prefer one over the other!!

UVA is better in business for sure. McIntire is premier and competitive with schools like Ross and Haas. The only thing is that there’s no guarantee to be admitted at the end of Soph year. I know that at UVA for the College at least, which is where pre-business students are for fresh and soph years, two years of language are required. The thing about GW is that DC is an awesome place to be for internships if you’re looking for things in government! They’re both extremely different environments: Charlottesville is the classic college town and GW is a true city school with a spread out campus that stretches across many city buildings, much like NYU.

UVA has the better rep, IMHO, and is ranked quite a bit higher than GW. I agree with ref1ections, GW is very urban. There are no sprawling grounds or a quad. UVA, OTOH, is one of the most beautiful schools I’ve ever seen. The architecture is very Jeffersonian. UVA also has the edge if you’re wanting tradition. GW is in the heart of DC, and it has easy access to the subway. Internships are available but they’re still very competitive. (You’re competing with kids from Georgetown, American, and other schools across the US.) UVA definitely has the better business school but there’s no guarantee. (You must apply to McIntire your second year.) Lastly, I would encourage you to really consider price. If you are IS for UVA this shouldn’t even be a post…you should definitely go to UVA. GW has a VERY high COA; however, some of the scholarships they offer make it slightly more affordable.

Luckily for me, after financial aid, they aren’t too different so I don’t have to consider the money too much.
I think I’m leaning towards uva, mostly I’m nervous about the possibility of not getting into mcintire, or not having the same sort of access to things as you might by living in the city.
