GWU vs Syracuse for Economics

As the title says, which university is better for economics? I like Syracuse’s campus and feel more, but I’ve heard GWU has unparalleled internship opportunities. US News ranks Syracuse as #52 and GWU as #61. However, College Factual has Syracuse at #58 and GWU at #42. Money is not an issue. Thanks.

There is no meaningful difference in rankings, so put that aside.

What sort of internships are you looking for? Iow, what is your goal with an economics degree? For many paths you will need an (expensive) graduate degree- if you save money on UG can it be applied to graduate school?

GWU does have amazing internship possibilities- BUT they don’t just happen, you have to be somebody who will hustle for them, who will apply and follow up and work with admin to get your class schedule right, etc.

Do you want to be on a campus in upstate NY or do you want to be in the middle of DC. Some really love the Urban feel and some dont.

You like Syracuse campus. Have you been to GW? it’s very very different. Totally urban. Until this fall doesn’t even have a dining hall.

You can get great internships from both. And you can do a semester in Dc at the Cuse. Maxwell School, by the way, is tops (for grad).

You have to be there four years day after day after day. So choose where you are comfortable. These two schools are commonly the ‘final’ two and both win their share so pick for you, not internships.
