I GOT A CALL <3 I couldnāt get answer because I was in AP test. But he said to call him back when I can!!! Iām so happy
@Ivanne Iāve been on pins and needles for you all day. In my discussions with FA they advised that when you take the parent plus loan payments do not start until the loan is āfully disbursedā which actually occurs in late March. This means that you will start paying for the 1st year PPL in March 2017 and then the 2nd year PPL in March 2018. My EFC is $40,000 so we didnāt get a dime (outside of her scholarship and Stafford). I told them exactly what I am gonna do. Iāll take a PPL the first year and then retire from the government with a full pension (30 years law enforcement). Because Iāll be retired law enforcement my 401K withdrawals will be excluded from the 10% penalty. Iāll use my entire 401K to pay for her undergrad (to include her Stafford). She will pay for the law school tuition. Some of my friends think Iām crazy but hereās the thingā¦Iām retiring with a $65,000 a year pension, full health benefits, no mortgage, life insurance and no credit card debt. If I kick the bucket before her law school, the life insurance will take care of law school. When you have a child who has excelled, stayed humble and understands this gift sheās been given Why Not!
I say all of this to say if you can do it (AU or GW) do it.

@HappyFace2018 thank you for the information, Sounds like you are in a great situation! I know nothing about the PPLās. My daughter has really worked hard and is so self motivated I hope we can swing her DC dream! She has applied for SO many outside scholarships. She is still applying for more each week. She won a $2500 scholarship from a local law firm. I am hope she will win a few more. My husband is in a similar situation to you, he works for a govāt entity and can retire in 2 or 3 years if he wants. He will get a nice pension and a payout of all his sick and vacation. The bummer, he does not get health insurance! Because of the payout, I donāt think he should retire while she is in college! I also have 2 more kids, aged 17 and 14 that will be coming up soon for college. I have a meeting with a financial advisor in a couple of weeks to help me figure this all out. I really appreciate your help, knowledge and support! If she goes to GW, would love to meet you and your daughter!

@GWdreamteam1998 They never told my daughter she got in. Just asked if she was still interested and could she decide quickly. Just check portal after you talk to him!

i just called in! the lady i talked to was pretty open to conversation and i explained why i want to go to gw and why i neglected to call on april 12 & 13. she said she would include in my file that i called in and expressed my interest and she said weāll know by late may! please pray for me guys!
