GYLC (Global Young Leaders Conference)

Hey,

I just got this invite to GYLC. It looks pretty professional, but I was wondering how selective GYLC really is. Is this one of those things almost every above average student gets or is it actually hard to get an invite.

Also, for those of you who have gone, is it worth it to go, and how do colleges look at it?

Thanks

No, it isn't really selective. You have to be nominated, but teachers can nominate whoever they think would be interested, regardless of acadmic performance. That being said, I attended a GYLC before my senior year, and I really enjoyed it. I went to the one in Europe (Vienna, Budapest, Prague) and heard a lot of interesting talks about the EU, saw a lot of Europe, and met some really cool people. I'm very glad that I went.
