Interested in hearing from any parents whose kids have attended an Envision Global Youth Leadership Conference.
My son is 17yo and completing his final year of secondary education in Australia.
I would like to make an informed decision on whether to accept the invitation for July.
We would need to fundraise and it may cause a slight disruption to his studies, however, I do not want to deny him a wonderful lifetime experience.

I haven’t heard of this, but I can tell you that if your son was “invited” to something that is very expensive for your family, it isn’t likely to be impressive to admissions committees at colleges. Especially if it disrupts his final year of school. I suggest googling it, along with the word “scam” to see what comes up.

My child has been “invited” to a number of similar conferences that are all super expensive. No doubt your son would have a great time, but I would be extremely wary. There are much more enriching experiences to spend your money on, like an amazing family holiday.

I think this is yet another pricey “invitation” that I would decline. Here’s another thread on it. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/internships-careers-employment/43540-is-th-global-young-leaders-conference-just-another-money-scam-p2.html

“Fundraising”, my eye. It’s fundraisng to fill the coffers of the company that runs it! What a disgrace. Glad we never fell for it. Thanks for the link @suzy100 .

My daughter was invited to several of these programs, and was invited to join several meaningless honor societies as well. Don’t waste your money filling the coffers of this privately held, for-profit company. There are real global youth experiences out there sponsored by universities and public entities, but you will have to seek them out yourself.
