Does it matter which department of H&SS I apply to? I mean is it easier to get into one or another, I am thinking about either statistics or economics. Would the admissions people think that iam trying to use a back door to tepper with econ? Or should I apply to general H&SS? If so, how should I gear my supplement essay?

bump bump any one?

64 view and no one has any idea? Oh come one plz help out! Thanks

I have no clue, but if I were you, I'd apply to the one which I thought i would study in.

No, it doesn't matter which department you apply to.. except for Information Systems since they declare their major much earlier.

Hi Rubiks24,
The undergraduate economics program is co-administrated by HSS and Tepper. Students seeking an undergraduate degree in economics are admitted to HSS and take classes in both schools.Tepper only offers one undergraduate program and that is in business administation. Good luck, CMU is a wonderful choice.

As of Fall 2005 students will earn their undergraduate econ degree from both HSS and Tepper.
