Is econ one of the more popular majors at the school of humanities and social sciences? If so, am I better off applying undecided major to H&SS? I'm also applying for tepper.

and… i dont really have anything to back up my interest in economics from my activities etc. except for the fact that im taking ap econ currently.

No, it won’t hurt, it will help. It will give you something to talk about in your essay. You don’t need exceptional experiences to back yourself up, just write about what interests you. Look at the CMU economics website, find things that fascinate and inspire you. Much better to write about specific majors and interests than to be vague.

thanks! 10char.

BTW does CMU consider what major applicants apply for in the admissions process? Because I was thinking that econ would probably be one of the most popular and therefore ‘hard to get in’ majors at the school of H&SS. Any thoughts on this, guys?
