Do any of you guys know any one who got into haas as a transfer?

yeah. lots.
some from CC board, tons from orientation.

One guy I met a the orientation, He got rejected the first time he applied to Haas as transfer because Berkeley told him to take some additional course (which he really didn't have to, long story)... he got mad and took that course and reapplied to Haas the next year.. and got accepted.. except this time HE rejected Haas as a revenge for rejecting him the previous year and chose UCLA BizEcon.

lol, funny guy.

That guy is a fool for rejecting Haas for UCLA. Haas will have the last laugh in this one that's for sure. :D

You might say that but outside the "revenge" part, he had legitimate reason to choose UCLA:

1.) He wanted to stay in So.Cal
2.) He's heard about the nightmare stories about the brutal competition among Haas students
3.) Berkeley too hippie and liberal for him

So I guess Haas isn't for everyone =/

So I guess UCLA's Business Econ program doesn't have nightmare stories about competitition then? I've heard the stories about asians (sorry, not to be racist) stealing other non-asian's Econ notes and ripping them up so they fail and they get the A's at UCLA. I'm not too sure about #3, it's more a stereotype than real (besides being liberal, but that isn't a reason either as UCLA is a very liberal school as well).

But then again, why does he want to go to top schools if he's afriad of competition... if that's the case why not just apply to some low level school where he can party all night and still get A's...

God knows perfectly what's in his mind haha.
As for the competition in BizEcon, yeah I heard so too, but according to current/past BizEcon students, they say the competition is the most fierce for Econ 11 and 101 (especially among transfers since that's what determines whether they'll get into the major or not) and after that the competition relatively calms down. I'm sure the competition will still exist, but the majority seem to agree that UCLA is more laid back than Berkeley, so compared to Haas it'll be lot smoother and friendly.

I'm not sure who said it but I remember someone from UCLA saying "BizEcon students just chill and don't stress too much over grade competition since vast majority of them will have at least one decent job offered before they graduate".

Is this true? I'll find out :)
