Haas Business

How difficult is it to get into Haas Business School as a regular sophomore applicant?

Thanks

it’s like 3 or 4 in every 10 applicants are accepted, so it isn’t really that difficult. and if you don’t get accepted, Berkeley econ is no slouch either. Berkeley econ is highly rated.

? I thought it was closer to 50%

If you count all the dumbasses who have below a 3.0, did absolutely nothing except study, and wrote their essays the hour before it was due…

I’d say the acceptance rate is somewhere around 9/10… seriously… It isn’t that hard as long as you have a decent GPA and don’t f up :)

So as long as your GPA is about 3.7 and you have a good resume and write a decent essay…it’s guaranteed?
What is a “good resume” anyways? haha.

I’d say as long as you have a 3.6, was involved in 1 sort of activity[specific interest/deep involvement], and write decent essays, you are in.

Average GPA 3.69
Middle 80% GPA Range 3.44-3.92

I mean, 20% has a GPA below 3.44… :S … and there’s only so many clubs you can be president of ^_~ So, really, the difficulty is exaggerated.

Many people with above average GPA don’t even need much EC or that decent of essays :)

It’s about 50% and I think it’s based on the number of spots available for each class, so it’s not going to rise or fall each year.

There is no guarantee that you’ll get in even if you’re a top student so if you don’t it’s not the end of the world.

If you do get in, it’s also only the beginning because you’ll need to find that good job which is 1000 times harder than getting into Haas.

But then again, you don’t have to stop finding a job and get another career whenever you get rejected from a company.

lol @ Starry. No offense but you’re the dumbass

Middle 80% means 10% of students fall below that range and 10% are above than that range. Therefore, 10% of Cal admits to Haas have a GPA below 3.44.

^

oh damn. s**t just got real

It’s getting intense

OMG bust out the fisty cuffs!

“above than that range”

…

o___O you’re right xD My bad~ :)

But still, 10% below 3.44 is a good amount of people.

And my statement still stands. And you’d think so too if you ever talked to Haas people and took Haas prereqs, you’d know it isn’t too hard to get in :S

well part of it is hindsight bias… because they are already in…

Well, I’m currently a sophomore, and I still think it’s easy to get in. :S
{no hindsight bias there?}

I’m just judging from people I met in my UGBA/Econ/Stats classes… But I could be wrong ^____^ [I’m not perfect]
