HADES - what makes them so good?

Apparently west coasters are pickier. They have three great boarding schools and 100% have made to the “honor roll”. What are they complaining? :)

3? Cate and Thacher are miles ahead of Stevenson and Webb…

I agree with DiveAlive that Cate and Thacher outrank Webb and RLS. But this is a discussion about four schools in a state with 38 million people. Boarding schools are not popular in California. The ‘game’ is on the East Coast. As we all know, there are a lot of great schools between New Hampshire and Delaware, for example, a fraction of the area of CA. California kids who are serious about boarding school go East.

PercyJackson - what a foolish statement. Are you an adult?

i doubt it with a username like that (its a character for a rather terrible tween novel)

don’t you mean rather horrible tween movie? The book wasn’t all that bad actually >/

just remove the “rather” from that statement and you’re good to go ; )

hahahaha i read the first chapter of the book and promptly thought the concept was just too ridiculous for me my brother loves the books but i suppose he is the right age for them 6th/7th grade

ya that’s the time period where my obsession with them peaked

yeah I read it last yr lol :stuck_out_tongue: (7th) but that being said my interest is usually in well written books (ie-Gatsby, Cather in the Rye, TKAM, that kind of book) and it gets better (WAY) as the series goes on.

oh i most certainly read trashy fiction my kindle is full of that type of stuff all of the more serious books i read in print… they must be given the proper respect

agreed. btw i can’t STAND kindle. it makes me angry. i like my paper copies thank you very much huff preferably hardcover…

what would you classify as trashy fiction?

Percy Jackson isn’t a bad book, I was really into it in 5th grade :). Over it now, the movie was bad but still a decent read for the Myth idea…

I want to get a Nook for convenience sake, I already have tons of series in PDF format but nothing will EVER replace books. I actually wrote one of my SPS essays on books and the smell of paper and the appeal of reading. Can’t have been that great though seeing as I was WLed ;)

like the upper class novels and other things of the sort

It isn’t that they’re better than everyone else;the schools may be in the same tier or group or whatever it’s called (i.e. Ten Schools Admissions Organization, National Coalition of Girl’s Schools).

Statistically they seem to be better. But again, after a certain point, its just about the fit.

instead of HADES, it should be HANDLES for
Hotchkiss
Andover
Northfield Mount Hermon
Deerfield
Lawrenceville
Exeter
Saint Pauls

nmh is not on the same level as those other schools. and wheres groton, middlesex and milton?

how abt… GADLEMMS or GLADTCHEMMS?eh, eh?

How about we don’t put all of these schools together into one group. There will always be controversy on which schools belong and which schools don’t belong.
