Hair straightening

the best hair straightener by far is the solia (folica.com).. its better than the CHI and i live by it. it is expensive, but its deff. worth it. the heat goes up to 450 degrees which seems like a lot but i use heat protectant spray and my hair is healthy. the spray is the CHI heat protectant spray and i got it from trade secret

Y'know that liquid stuff that comes out of your body every 3-5 hours? (and no. not the solid) That's the sh !t right there. Not only will your hair be straight, but it will also carry a nice scent as well.

Um. Good advice...

Your Welcome :)

I use it all the time! It works like a charm. And it's free! Chicks LOVE that p!ss scent. I get so many looks it's not even funny.

And a lot of chicks backing away in disgust too I'll bet. =P

There was a guy on my bus that smelled like pee. I always assumed it was his cat :(

if straighening takes a long time, do it every 2 days. ex. shower on monday and straighten, tuesday shower but dont wet hair. wednesda shower and straighten. it saves time and on the other days just run a straightener over if its gets a little wavy

so what's wrong with wavy and curly? how come everyone wants straight hair nowadays?

predictable: Curly hair, especially the frizzy, bushy variety, is a HUGE pain. Ugly, hard to take care of, impossible to style. It would be wonderful if we could all just embrace our natural locks, but unfortunately, with curly-haired girls, that's just not an option.

Well...I don't agree with you happypoo. I don't think my frizzy, curly hair is ugly nor is it impossible to style. I embrace it and find it easy to take care of.

Styling for straight hair is a choice, not a necessity. It is all about finding out what works with your hair.

Don't perm your hair. You can damage it and never get the strength and texture of your hair back.

I've had my hair permed for three years. The chemicals didn't break my hair, but they did change its texture. I regret putting the perm in my hair because now I wish it was back to its natural state. For some girls, that's great, but I loved my fro:) It was a part of me and my heritage.

So, choose wisely what you do to your hair. I allowed others to influence who I was, thinking that naps were ugly. Pssh. :)

i dont know if you hav a sally beauty supply in your town, but go there and get one of the good ceramic flat irons, like 40-50$ i use one maybe 4-5 times a week and i dont use anything else on my hair and it stays in relatively good shape, its pretty curly by the way

says the "blondgurl"...haha. jp

Yeah I have Asian hair...mine loves to be wavy. It looks great straight...just a pain to straighten it, so I do it maybe once or twice a week, when I need to. The rest of the days I put it up and it looks almost as good, its comfortable, and its easy.

Sorry, I don't know a thing about straightening hair. I do have to say though, straight hair is really nice and fairly easy. But... it's really annoying when you want it to curl.

YES, lablondie. my hair is pretty straight, it's easy to manage and all my friends want it. but it's absolutely impossible to curl. i've tried everything, curling irons, sitting in a salon for 5 hours, gel, mousse, everything.

it's a pain.

Actually mine's next to impossible to straighten! All it does is curl (with some gel) or frizz. But when I do try to straighten it I really do some major damage to it so I have this damage- repair shampoo, for damaged hair. It's worked well, so if I even do get the paitence to straighten my hair (or a friend has the paitence!) I won't have to deal with the damage it does.

I use Herbal Essences' "Dangerously Straight" shampoo and "None of your Frizzness" conditioner. They work well, and don't hinder my wavy/curliness when needed.

I miss the old Herbal Essences. But the Dangerously Straight stuff works... I use the hairspray and it keeps my hair from getting frizzy when it's humid outside without making my hair hard or sticky.

Yeah, exactly. It makes my hair so smooth and shiny when I do straighten it...plus, none of those annoying frizzes/bumps around the temples/ears.
