Halloween?

I have not gone to trick-or-treating in many years, and now I suddenly want to go back. (Yes, I know I'm a little old...) I figure I can't get anything from dorms, but off campus apartments would worth a try. Anyone else going trick-or-treating/other Halloween celebrations this year?

You realize in college most people go to Halloween parties, right?

I’ll be trick-or-treating for UNICEF this year…

I still trick or treat some years, but I go to the suburbs to do it-- no college kids are going to be home passing out candy, they are going to be at parties. If you don’t have any little kids to bring I suggest you wear a mask or some people might say you are too old. XD When I was 16-17 I got some crap from some of my neighbors, but I take my sister’s kids now so nobody complains because they think it’s so sweet I’m spending time with the kiddies. :stuck_out_tongue: I am just not into the parties and it’s fun to be a kid again for a few hours, no harm in that.

It’s different I guess. I just wouldn’t go by myself- I’d at least bring a sibling or just a group of friends- otherwise, it’ll be kind of creepy.

I agree with that, it’s more fun to go with some friends-- even if you all feel silly, it’s more fun to feel silly together. I’ve gone by myself before and gotten REALLY weird looks. XD

College… where Halloween becomes cool again.

Anyway, I haven’t been trick-or-treating since 6th grade… Most people in college will go to parties for Halloween, not trick-or-treating.

A better way to spend your time?

PARTIES!!! Yep. Although at my school we have a program during Halloween where little kids come to the dorms and college kids (who choose to) give away candy. Although if you really want to trick-or-treat, go with a little brother or sister (or find some little kids somewhere) to make it a bit more legit. Off campus apartments don’t really seem like places to go trick-or-treating…I’d stick with suburban houses if you can.

Anyone with common sense would know to go to a real neighborhood or a suburb to trick or treat. No college students are going to be giving out candy. Around here you can’t get into an apartment building without a key card.

If you want candy so bad buy it and do something that’s actually fun on halloween. Like go to a haunted tour of something or a carnival thing or a haunted house. If you trick or treat you are just gonna be walking around for hours with a bunch of screaming little kids.
