the majority of people do fail their first test, so failing just 2 times probably isnt a big deal. just keep trying, and practice driving more.

Just set up the test in a lot and practice.

If you live in an urban or heavily populated suburban area, I’d look into other nearby DMV’s around your area. In my county, there’s a DMv in a city of 45,000 people. Traffic was nonexistent there.haha

As Queen of HSL…I will start off each post like this LOL…I suggest you ride with your mom or other licensed driver through the road test course. Get a feel of all the turns and stops. It seems to me you do not work good under pressure, however if you know the road test, being that you took it 2 times already…you should be more comfortable and confident. I just started lessons and the first day my instructor took me to the course of the road test.

^ You’re not queen.

You know how many times I did the exact course before I took my exam?

I did it at least thirty times. I practiced parallel parking, then I pulled out. When down the street. Stopped at the stop light. Turned left. Turned left. Went down the street. Pull over for an over night park. Then pulled out. Went down the street. Turned left. Did a three point turn. Went back down the street. Turned right. Went to the end. Pulled over. Backed up a hundred feet. Then went back to the end of the street. Turned right. Went down to the light. Stopped. Then turned right. Then went back to the DMV parking lot.

I took this test about five months ago… and I can still tell you the exact course because I did it over and over and over again.

AND my evaluator was racist. (She apparently hates her job and likes to fail white students.)

So… I’m not trying to be mean… but my point is… You need to practice and practice. And practice some more. If the course changes… then figure out where all of the courses are.

[And I passed my first time.]

Really… it’s not about your driving skills. It’s about knowing what counts off, remaining calm, and being ahead of the game in knowing what to expect.

thanks guys for the opinions

augirl, i did practice. i took my 1st 2 tests at the same dmv. 1st time i didn’t know the course and i know where i messed up. I am not complaining about that. but 2nd time, I got this mean lady, who hated me from the 1st time around, and failed me. Like she failed me on hand signals (even tho i got it CORRECT and she said so…so 3 points off there, which is a fail. Then she took off another 2 points for driving like 3-5 mph under the speed limit (when I was trying to be safe but of course, she doesnt udnerstand that…)

then i hit the curb which is, for her, another 5 points off…

im taking it at another dmv…and yea I agree with your last sentence. my 2nd test, i was calm, like I thought I would get my license

Zapz - have you taken the test in Virginia? I really wanna know how it is because that sounds like a hard test in cali.

How is driving over a curb make it hard? I would fail someone who did that! L0L.

Anyway, I think it is really dependent on the person who is driving with you, xotriish. Mine was very lax. The day before the test we did a practice run and then at the end he was like, “You both did good [we have two per car]. I can count this as your test.”

=P

All I did was some back road driving, went on the interstate twice, and I never did parallel parking.

coolman1234, if you can’t handle yelling I hope you don’t drive friends/carpool anytime after you get your license? I kid, sort of. Driving with people you know and are comfortable with is a lot less stressful, I guess.

how do you fail a license test? i cut someone off during mine and still passed.

OH MY BOB!
hahahhahaha that was me! I Failed twice. haha same thing happened i got an automaic fail the first time cause i DIDNT go into the bike lane to turn, and the second i was soo close to passing but failed me by a point cause i wasnt paying attention to the parking lot 0.o

don’t worry you will get it! i felt soo stupid cause i take AP classes and get good grades yet i couldnt pass the freakin exam! i wasnt even a bad driver! anywho just relax and PRACTICE! maybe read over the booklet, but again RELAX!

ps. feels amazing once you pass it you will get it

lol my 2nd examiner hated me and failed me but whatever lol

and nice locoducky…yea i bet it does feel good…can’t wait lol

After reading this post, I am a bit terrified to go out on the roads!!! Maybe after you fail the driving course a couple of times, you should consider taking another course! You are failing for a reason and instead of letting your pride get in the way…you should consider the safety factor to you, your passengers and others on the road!
