i got a letter in the mail from UDub and it said that i was assigned a single room in hansee hall. i dont know if i should be glad or disappointed at this because im already seeing both pros and cons for living in hansee hall. whats your input?

It is a beautiful building! A very quiet location (unless there might be noise coming from the frats across the way?) yet convenient to classrooms on the north end of campus. I think you need to take advantage of structured opportunities for socializing with other residents of Hansee, because you're not forced together as much as you would be in the other halls.

ok. thanks moominmama. but like you were saying, i kinda like that its a quiet location because im really serious when it comes down to having some time away from all the noise and distractions especially when i really need to study and tune out everyone but im a really social person as well and i just thought that living in hansee hall, where its practically quiet all the time, would lessen my chances of socializing wth others... i dont want to be residing in a place known for the "losers" living there. maybe im just overly stressing on this matter but i really dont know what to think of it...

Just think of it as being your refuge on a busy campus. If you want to be in a busy place sometimes, go to the HUB, a cafe, or whatever. Join a club or two, get involved with your classmates, get busy with student government, whatever floats your boat. You can be busy and doing things with people every minute that you want . . . and then you'll have a quiet place to go to afterwards. Hansee does have planned activities for its residents, so it's not like it's a monastery or anything. And I'll bet the ole trick of leaving your door open with a sign saying "free chocolate" and a bowl of M&Ms on your desk will give you a chance to meet your hallmates.
