The title says it all. Today is the day to celebrate our greatly-loved symbol, pi. Whether you loved it or hated it in your geometry or trigonometry class, everybody should celebrate it. If people smoke pot on 4/20, why don't we eat pie on 3/14?

yea, I celebrated it at 1:59 pm...making it 3/14 1:59 pretty cool!

happy pi day!

ps., what is your favorite pie?

my math teacher bought us those little hostess pies today. it was sweet :)

Let's not forget calculus or physics ;-).

I wish I had a piece of pie to celebrate =P.

Happy Pi Day to you too.

We sold about 600 slices of pie for Pi Day today. Fun times.
We also had a pi-reciting contest, but only about three people were there.

^ Haha, I remember when we did that for council freshman year. We told them that they could have a free slice of pie of they could recite for us the first 50 digits. Around 10 people ended up with free pie.

oh yeah. we're nerds.

Fo'shizzle. Let's have a reciting contest. :)

Today, I completely amazed my friend. I took the long list of digits, looked it over for five seconds... and then began reciting pi as if I had simply memorized the entire page in that time span. I knew... maybe six digits already (I'm not very math-y, sorry =D), but after that, I just made up numbers. My friend thought I was a GENIUS until I told her halfway through the day that I had just blurted out random numbers.

pi day is pretty sweet
: )

Happy belated Pi day!

Also LesOs that is awesome, I should try that sometime, heh.

We are on spring break this week, but fizix's idea of selling pie is great. I wish we could have done that for Mu Alpha Theta.

lmao. so the math department at my school holds an annual pi day contest, and gives prizes to the best pi-related posters, videos, songs, etc.
so every year my two friends, seniors, do a hilarious pi-day song and always win. (idk what we'll do without them next year)
Like last year they did it to My Humps and did My Ti-83. It was pretty funny.

And what makes it funny is not only the lyrics, but the fact that one, the guy, is a complete nerd and is well-known for being one, and the girl is really smart, and also funny, well-known, and officer in a ton of clubs.

So this year they did Gavilicious, to Fergilicious. The math department chair is Dr. Gavioli, called Dr. Gav for short. It is SO funny to actually see them sing this.

So heres the song: http://www.sendspace.com/file/podr2c

Please forgive the insanely bad singing. Niether are singers, and both are probably some of the most tone-deaf people ever. (ironic because the girl is actually the daughter of the grammy-winning manager/producer of Korn). The rapping part is especially off rhythm. But the lyrics are funny and so is the idea of these kids acting gansta.

I wish I wasn't on spring break right now...actually, I don't. But it would have been cool to celebrate Pi Day with everyone. Oh well...at least I still get molases cookies every year on Mole Day.
