Just realized Pi day this year is on a Saturday. It ruined the nerdy math fun.

go to Pi Day Challenge

It is SO HARD! A teacher in my school created it and is trying to get a maximum number of hits. Plenty of fun to fill up your Pi day!

The math department at my school usually brings in pies for all of their classes on pi day. Booo, Saturdays!

Pi day of my sophomore year, my school had a pi memorization contest. I came in third with 170, but I still got a pie! The top three got pies and the next seven got slices. I suck. But I do have 51 digits stored in my long-term memory, since I memorized them for fun on 3/14 freshman year. I'm awesome, I know.

This year I'm having a personal contest with my friend, and he's really good at memorizing stuff ("yeah I'll be really busy so I'll probably just do the first 314") and I'll be lucky if I can get 100 down, lol.

^ wow... marry me please.... i'm always impressed by people who know a lot of digits of pi

I will definitely marry you, enigmatic mcb52.

alright... that makes for... i think 3 fiances so far ^^

Wow Poseur I thought my 57 was good.

We're celebrating Pi Day tomorrow at school. Hope the Friday the 13th doesn't ruin it.

Haha, I only know the first 10 digit of pi.
170... Poseur, how long did that take you?

@ SAM: 57 > 51!

I have about 95 right now, though.

@ boraxandglue: One or two days, and it only remained in my memory for about a day. The 51 long-term ones took an hour or so, I guess, of repeating it over and over, so now I always hear them in my head. :]

3.1415926538 <--that's all i know

@Poseur: True, but that was me working at it for a few days. Now I probably only know ~20 or 30.

this is all i know
i am sad about pi day being on a saturday too

omg pi day parties! let's see how many digits math nerds can recite while drunk

I'm trying that puzzle thing ElizaB mentioned. I'm stuck on #2...

I've spent the past 15 min on Pi-Search Results.

So much fun.

boraxandglue, you can click "need a hint" at the bottom if you need it. However, number two...there is no sales tax in MA on clothing under $175 :)

^ ?!
Am I just suppose to know that? :)

Haha well that's my math teacher for you! He's kind of crazy. But we are in MA, so I guess it was originally designed with us in mind

^ Oh, that makes sense.

This puzzle is really addicting...
