Hey, I am currently a freshman taking Organic Chemistry, Biology, Calculus, and Microeconomics for my first semester, and my grades are not how I want them to be. I am definitely putting in the work, but I don’t know if I am struggling because this is my first semester or if there are genuinely hard courses. I am hoping to go into dental school, and I know people say that I just have to continue my best and show that progressive curve throughout my time in college or GPA isn’t the only determinant factor, but I want to know what are common courses pre-med students usually get B’s or C’s in college. Like what courses are usually the “hit” students take.
Orgo, Bio, and Calc II are commonly considered to be premed weeders, but your school may differ. Two lab sciences, a math, and another substantive class is a heavy course load.
Organic Chemistry as a Second Language is a book I see recommended a lot.
