I got THE HARDEST calc teacher in the world this semester. Other than possibly learning a little more and pushing myself (which i have been doing but still will manage only a B, probably a C), are there any plusses to this? Should I just suck it up and use ratemyprofessor to get an A in calc 2 next fall?

wont the material be the same regardless of teacher...go for the A.

i think...
if the material relates to what your major is, or is useful in the long run, take the hard teacher because they'll MAKE you know your material.

otherwise, i would take an easier route.

but sometimes the teacher is easy or easier because they do a better job of explaining the material, all the hard teachers I had were simply hard because they explained nothing and tested on everything.

really?
i had one hard english teacher, such that after i took her..my english really substantially improved.
as well as a hard math teacher, such that he made me really understand the concepts of calculus really well.

then i have my easy stats teacher, and he is by far the smartest guy ive yet to take..but hes easy cuz he lets us use notes on tests :) really...im actually really not learning anything :P

some teachers suck at teaching...thas why they are hard...use ratemyprofessor
