Hard to say goodbye...

Well, today was the day--dd headed back to the Yard. It was hard to say goodbye. Praying for all those traveling today...

Yes it was, very very hard. My daughter left Tuesday and I've already talked with (and shed a few tears) with several other Moms that had their Plebe leave early for return. The house is so quiet, and much neater! Now I have to plan a weekend visit and for Plebe No More activities..... Time does fly......

Word to the parents whose kids are going back...this is the worst time of year for them, the so-called "Dark Ages"...so boodle boxes, emails, cards, letters etc. are definitely in order.

I continued to write every day she was home, and my little guys mailed off letters about a week ago--her box will be overflowing! And we have two packages ready to go off. I remember how long those January days were away from home...

Do they have email again? It was down last night...

Just got email from my daughter- seems its up and running again.

email up and running....along with our poor plebes, who resumed a full load of classes today!

happy to report the thorpedo was good about going back- thought he'd be dragging his feet, but to my surprise it was mom dragging hers a bit! :o

apparently lots of meetings yesterday to introduce them to each major....

and only 2 days left 'till the full brunt of lax practices hit!

;) :D

Only it's 60 degrees and sunny this weekend.

Z- what a great pic...didn't you mention that a classmate of yours did that? just think- you could add that to your book/chapter on the dark ages!!! ;)

Yes, that was a classmate of mine. Best damned Log Magazine covers ever.

I think the worst I ever felt at USNA (aside from when I was facing an Ac Board) was the night I returned from Christmas Leave as a Plebe. Jeez, that sucked. :(

We were talking to our mid about his as we took him to the airport on Wednesday (he was delayed a day due to the airlines, Darn! ;) He was actually looking forward to getting back to comparative daylight and warmth after 2 + weeks in the 30 below with only 3 hours of daylight per day. It's all relative! :)
