ACT is kind of low. You sound smart, why don't you take SAT1 and get like
2200+ and then, you will have a shot at Harvard. I keep emphasizing SAT on people, because even though I don't really KNOW what the admissions office is doing, I heard from many people that they don't have time, so it is more likely that they would skim through the numbers first. Your ECs and essays DO matter greatly, but high score in SAT1 and ACT is kind of like the protection you need from ad officers throughing your app in the "review" pile. Admissions officers say "we don't look for numbers" "suspended from school does not matter much" and all that sweet stuff, but that's BS.

You sound smart enough for it, if you study. Maybe you'll find SAT easier.
Just read sth. Harvard doesn't take ACT scores, you NEED an SAT score.

So... you are hispanic... you are planning on entering a Spanish Spelling Bee... and you got a B in Spanish 3? Any grade other than an A is inexcusable in any HS language course other than AP.

^Don't listen to him...he doesn't know what he's talking about. However, URM will not help you that much because Hispanic isn't a minority where you live (just like in S. Florida) and therefore you won't get an edge over other local applicants.

Well if I went to a normal high school, I think anything lower than a 98 on anything, even AP would be inexcusable...but I don't, so....let me put it this way HarvardClassof2011 (not to be rude). I know more Spanish than you; grades aren't everything, believe it or not.

Why not listen to me? Who are you, the forum police? If you were from Russia, and took a course in basic Russian language and got a B, don't you think it would reveal something about work ethic or some other factor?
