it’s annoying to be so in love with harvard that you can’t fathom rejection:/ grr…
I made the mistake of taking their virtual tour. The facilities are SO nice. Why did I do this to myself oh god WHY
I’ve honestly stopped caring. I’m going for engineering and I got into engineering at Berkeley-- I’m just curious are this point. But still, it’d be soooooooo nice to get into Harvard… I’d probably go to Harvard instead.
I was just rejected by Stanford after being deffered, so I am going to jump onto this thread now. I’m hoping that I won’t have the same response from the Ivy League schools that I applied to.
@MajorlyPsyched Same here, I got waitlisted at Stanford, but I’m glad it happened there instead of Harvard and Yale, but I’m still getting over the feeling that I’m not total acceptance bait anymore (I was 11 for 11 until yesterday! Darn you, stanford)
I hadn’t quite been keeping track of the time since I had gotten into MIT EA, but this past week has hit me like a brick wall! I am soooo nervous!!! Good luck to everyone on Tuesday!!!
Are decisions emailed or in the portal?
I believe Harvard sends student’s an email alerting them to check the portal for admissions decisions.
@gibby I heard that the email contains the notice, just like Stanford. Can anyone confirm?
@erochh If RD notifications are like those of SCEA (which I assume they will be) then there is no hint of your decision in the email itself.
I’m not sure the email to check the decision is necessary. I feel like most of us will be hitting refresh nonstop starting at five am… I’ll probably have my decision (read: rejection) before the email is even sent out.
@CSGoddess You know it. I refreshed my browser every 15-30 seconds for 20 minutes. Probably not the most sane thing to do.
i’m going paranoid; did anyone else receive an email about applying for financial aid at harvard? i got it back in january, and i have no idea if everyone received it. or if it’s a sign of something.
@easycadence I didn’t (and my FinAid stuff was not by the 1st…). The only email I received was one that was like “did you want to? here’s how”). I sent my app in back in November, so I’m sure they’ve had my decision (which I’m convinced is a rejection) ready since then. I don’t think it means anything other than they went through their database of applications, made a mailing list of students who indicated they were applying for aid on the common app, then sent a form email. I’ve seen a few people on the forums asking if requests for financial information sent VERY recently is a sign, but correlation hasn’t been confirmed.
@go4cornell literally, I was hitting refresh non-stop for about an hour waiting… I only paused if the page seemed to indicate significant change. Not sane, but definitely more interesting than my homework.
Did anyone else get a second interview?
@erochh I was admitted SCEA this year, and I never received an email. I logged into my applicant portal and there was a “Status Update” button which linked me to my decision.
@Jambalaya did you get an email a few days before decisions day telling you that your decision would be at your applicant portal? or does harvard not send an email? not sure if you know, but just in case:P
and has anyone received an email from harvard recently?
Hey guys…
2 days, 7 hours, 24 minutes and 20 seconds
@easycadence nope i haven’t gotten an email from them since January
@easycadence @ibbi1824 I haven’t got anything either. I don’t think it means anything. I think they only contact you if they’re missing extra material or something.
