What if you apply past the deadline for the Financial Aid?
I got the IDOC notification. I submitted it on Sunday, but it has not processed yet.
@krauser126 I would assume that you would not receive your financial aid package on decision day.
@DoctorMD but youd still recieve one right? Just later on?
@krauser126 I would think so. I would only seem appropriate, but again I’m not really sure. I wouldn’t stress about it too much. If it really bothers you, call financial aid tomorrow. I know the IDOC is due November 11th and CSS and FAFSA are due November 1st.
The suspense is killing me!!! I just want it to be December 15
@krauser126 If accepted, they’ll do their best to have the fin aid info to you as well. They fully understand it’s crucial for students in their decision. Remember, it’s not as if they’re going to fully run fin aid profiles on every applicant from day one – I assume they only work on those packages that reach one of the further review stages. Many are culled upon first read and the Fin Aid office probably doesn’t even open those files. My speculation here only.
@krauser126 It says on the website that they would accept fin Aid materials a little later that the deadline so don’t worry too much. Also, I think @T26E4 makes a very valid point. plus son’t stress too much. I haven’t started yet either and I’m pretty sure there is a lot of people.
Anyways, I keep thinking of things that I could’ve done wrong in my app… I just really wish Dec 15 would come around soon.
Until when can I add recommenders ? When does the ‘add recommender’ button disappear?
Should I use the link they provided in the ‘applicant portal email’ or should I use commonapp? (I have an extra slot open)
If you get the IDOC, is there a high chance that u are accepted?
Bc many people who got the IDOC for colleges got accepted to them.
I think everyone who submits CSS get the IDOC
@CrimsonZa Common App will let u add recommenders till end of season. Harvard will accept recommendations for EA probably for a few more days. IF you are out of slots, you can use the direct link they would have emailed you. But most forums suggest not to submit too many recommendations.
@nillupa @crimsonza is correct. IDOC is sent by collegeboard, not by Harvard. Harvard will not even start processing fin aid till after the admission. So, there is no relationship between IDOC and admission.
Did anyone submit a resume by external means? I know they don’t have space for one on the Common App, but some people are insisting I email one in. Is that wise?
How do u guys know decisions come out december 15?
Bc last year they came on december 10, so they could come out on december 8?
How long does it take for the IDOC to complete?
@nillupa December 15th is an approx date. Only Harvard will know what exact date they will release it this year. No one on CC will likely know that. IDOC does not take time at all, if you have the recent tax returns and W2s. All that you have to do is upload those.
