If you get an interview from An admissions officer and they’ve already read my app does it mean they’ve already decided my fate be it deferral
Or whatever and sending in anything new won’t help my case ?
@CrimsonZa – you’re paranoid. It’s not likely they’ve made any decisions yet – the submission deadline was just a few days ago and most AOs are returning to Cambridge from fall travel season. And even if your fate HAS been sealed, how can any of us know – and, what difference will it make seeing as you won’t be told Yes/No/Defer until mid December. Go have some fun.
Hahaha this process is just so stressful lol. I guess I really just need to chill
@CrimsonZa - you are international, right? My understanding is that not all Internationals get an interview. So, if you got an interview, that might be a good sign.
@MedSciBud thanks for the encouragement but for the sake of my emotional stability I’ve decided not read into it so much. After all, the website does say they try to interview everyone. But fingers crossed that IS actually a good sign lol
@CrimsonZa - good luck. Post again after the interview
@CrimsonZa Which country are you in? And did you receive an interview offer through skype or an actual meeting? Also, how come you are appointed an interview with an Admission Officer when you are international?
I am an international student too, by the way.
@amhedsheta I’m from Zambia. It is through Skype. I it’s with an admission officer because there are no alumni interviewers.
Where are you from?
The alumni conducting the admission interviews have NOT read our application, correct? People seem to be making that assumption here, but I don’t think that’s correct.
I am from Egypt. It is strange though that you received an interview that soon, when did you submit your application, for that matter?
Anyway, good luck!
@david_p - you are correct. Alumni have no information other than the applicant’s name, email address, and phone number. That is the reason some alumni ask the applicant for their resume. Not sure I read anywhere on this forum anyone stating that the alumni have read the application!
But @CrimsonZa’s case may be different because the interview is with an admissions officer.
@CrimsonZa Getting an interview is a good thing. Don’t freak out. They just wanna learn more about you, Tell us how it goes. Do well and make me proud!
@amhedsheta I submitted on the 31st and got an interview request on the 2nd #:-S
@CrimsonZa URM? That must be the case.
Out of curiosity, when should a domestic applicant contact the college in regards to an interview? How long is too long to wait?
@DoctorMD - from what I have read, I don’t think US applicants should contact the college at all re: interview. If there is an alum available in the area, they will contact re: interview. Interview is not mandatory, does not make or break the admissions decision. There have been several applicants accepted in the past without interviews.
Moot point; URM does not apply for internationals.
What majors are u guys applying for
