Wait a little bit unrelated but did anyone else see the “Oct. 15” suggested early deadline? How much does submitting by then matter?
Also I really hope its the 13th too, that mid-December ambiguity is just too cruel :(((

Hi guys, person who’s been looking at this thread for a while now here. Now I am extremely anxious with the results (I know the chances are low but hey) so while I was derping on my applicant portal I clicked on admissions and on the bottom of the page it said this:
INFORMATION SESSIONS AND COLLEGE CAMPUS TOURS WILL NOT BE OFFERED TODAY!
December 12th, 12:00am
INFORMATION SESSIONS AND COLLEGE CAMPUS TOURS WILL NOT BE OFFERED TODAY!
December 13th, 12:00am
Now I believe this has something to do with the EA results, but I am not sure. If this is true, the results day would be either December 13th or 14th, right?
@HypedForHYPS can you describe a bit what was in the letter? It is not Harvard-like to leak admissions info… If that is true, however, congrats ! xD
@Theoddorre He was supposedly admitted ED to Cornell, unless that was a lie as well.
@ivyleaguedreamen seems unlikely that H send stuff out before the date, so personally I am not believing this. Also, messages with “highly likely to be admitted” 4 days before the results come? Please.
Anyways, have fun guys.
I’m a junior so I’m not applying this year. But I’m assuming that a majority of Harvard applicants are smart. Therefore, why continue to entertain these obvious frauds. That’s exacly what they want. Just let them be. Their goal is make you more anxious and quite frankly you have fallen prey to their trap. Be smart, ignore them, and wait patiently till results come out. Good luck!
Hey guys - change of topic - how many of us have visited the Harvard campus?
@Tobster18 trust me even without their “pranks” I am extremely anxious right now, especially because I have some problems when it comes to not having any control over things and because I do not even know the exact date of the results so I can prepare myself mentally. I can see myself studying for some exams and then POP new e-mail and rejection.
@MedSciBud it is pretty expensive to go from France to Boston, so personally I have not visited it, although I wish I had
@Theoddorre - agree about the expense. Hope you get to visit (and stay) next fall!
@MedSciBud I visited it last year, and I absolutely loved it. I love how it’s not isolated, and not exactly in the middle of a bustling city. It’s a perfect medium, plus Harvard yard is sooo cool. I also really like their housing system, because it greats a community within the college. My favorite part was the Widener Library, we couldn’t go inside, but the architecture is just magnificent. Harvard Square is so diverse with restaurants and lots of shops. It’s like a mix of a mini college town with an urban vibe.
@Tobster18 - good to know you got a chance to visit and loved it. I should say that H campus is not the most gorgeous of all - but definitely has the vibes. Hope you get to stay there a year from now (you are a junior, right?)
@MedSciBud I live in MA and have a relative at MIT so I stay around Cambridge very often. I think Harvard square is cool because you get a bustling city feel with lots of good shopping and food without being particularly unsafe. The T is also very convenient for getting into Chinatown or any of the suburbs. The Charles river is absolutely amazingg and walking across Harvard Bridge in the morning or at sunset is sooo relaxing. The campus itself is gorgeous and so organized and ughhhhhh I just want to be there for the next 4 years!!!
@Theoddorre - I keep trying to steer away and you keep bringing it back in. Please help by staying on this different topic (or any other topic of your choice).
@Clareesi - good that you have been able to visit Cambridge several times. The who city has a special aura. How come you have a relative at MIT, but decided to apply H SCEA?
Btw - @ivyleaguedreamen @Theoddorre and @Clareesi - you still have not entered your names on the pledge thread?
@MedSciBud Haha I actually want to do engineering too so Harvard is kind of counter-intuitive, but I really love the atmosphere and the people at Harvard more. I feel like Harvard has so many resources in so many different areas - not just stem - and that I would be able to work with some really diverse people, which I think is so important to developing an interdisciplinary mindset and finding non-obvious solutions to problems. And there’s just a gracefulness about Harvard that I think no other school can measure up to, IDK lol. Also MIT doesn’t value legacy that much, so my relative isn’t much help in that regards. Though I will be applying there regular because tuition would be free for me there and it really depends on my parents’ financial situation (The big H is expensive sadly).
@MedSciBud I’m kind of hesitant because I probably would be too sad to write up so much information, but I’ll try to push myself to do it
@Clareesi same
@Clareesi - if you get into both, you are going to have a tough choice to make - but perhaps the full ride will help with the decision. Re: posting results - agree with you. I will probably not be the first to post - regardless of the result. But, there is no hurry to post it - just pledge to post it when you can. Also - you can write everything up and save as draft, just change the decision and click post! The results thread are not for our batch - it is for future applicants
@Theoddorre - come on - help the future applicants. The previous batch’s results and stats helped me.
@MedSciBud Okay I’ll go pledge, thanks for the advice. I think the chances of me getting into both schools are so tiny lol I’ll take what I can get haha
