@jamieevren1210 hahaha I didn’t know there are actual statistics for this kinda stuff, mind sharing your source?
also Harvard’s financial aid policy is identical for domestic & int’l applicants (one of the main reasons I applied tbh) so we have equal chances for FA
Ugh so nervous I’m pretty much expecting rejection but I still care for some reason. Was 25 minutes late to my interview because of driving issues and will forever wonder if that’s the reason for rejection.
@qwertyemily Take that out of your mind. Yes, you might get rejected but unless that interviewer were the most cruel and heartless person on the planet and simply fabricated a narrative of how uninterested in the interview process you were, it wouldn’t have been even the tiniest factor.
@kurtgu9903 I think @jamieevren1210 got it from here: http://www.hio.harvard.edu/statistics - just key in your country and divide the total number of undergraduates on campus by 4
The odds are low for most of us! Although there are more students from China, I’m pretty sure the number of applicants trumps both Taiwan and Singapore
@kandykoloredbaby thanks!
yeah I would say we have a very large and competitive applicant pool. But Harvard acceptances are rare anywhere lol
Most Chinese students don’t take chances and “reach” when applying, and the best of them are most likely to end up in Cornell and Wharton.
@z12332 On a different thread under the Harvard topic. It should be named something like Harvard 2021 pledge thread.
Thank you! @Clareesi 2 more days!!
So guys what are you guys doing to pass the time? Hahaha. It seems like I cant focus on much anymore.
What time on the 13th will the decisions be announced?
@girlgoingtouni I think 5pm EST traditionally.
@girlgoingtouni I think it’s 5 PM their time, I do not know what time zone it is but that would be 11 PM for me. Talk about a stressful day.
The only indication we all have re: decision date is the Crimson article. That article only said the date - did not indicate any time. So at this time, we are all anticipating it to be Dec 13th at 5pm.
Hey guys, I’ve heard rumours that school college counsellors might already knew the results. Some of my friends who applied to Columbia went to “test” the water, and our school counsellor told them “well this year the application rate of Columbia increased by 16%”. Guys, should I also go “test” the water??? I don’t know…
@min suga It wouldn’t hurt but honestly you only have to wait for two more days so just wait. I don’t think that testing the water would help. and I really don’t think coluumbia’s acceptance rate would increase by 16 percent.
p.s
Another A.R.M.Y here!!!
I’ll check with my counselor. Oh wait, I don’t have one.
@yerin2021 Yeah I agree, I think I’d rather found out myself. Oh and for Columbia, it is not the acceptance rate; it’s the number of applicants increased by 16 percent in ED round. (And I think it’s true, because I feel like everyone I know is applying to Columbia). Let’s just wait.
PS
A.R.M.Y taking over the world. and may the force be with us.
You can see how many people have applied to a school through naviance, so the application rate is not really secret information.
Does anyone else have finals this week as well? So stressful…
What is A.R.M.Y?
