Midterms are next week for me (Thankfully!)
Out of curiosity, did anybody’s guidance counselor receive an email from Harvard requesting 1st Quarter grades? I know other universities have done so (like Princeton).

@DoctorMD I would hope not. I think that would be listed in our portal?
@DoctorMD, my counselor was contacted (for current grades) the week of thanksgiving (Tuesday or Monday I can’t remember)… but one of my friends who just got into Stanford wasn’t asked for theirs so I don’t know if I would read too much into it.
@pineapple86 It did not show up in my status portal, at least nothing looked like it changed. The midyear still has an “x” next to it.
Haha I just logged back into my account to read my admissions letter one last time. I get chills just reading it.
Let me tell you, coming from a very small town, those of you that get in will have an amazing time. Do NOT let any of the other colleges try and persuade you away from Harvard. Everyone in England thinks of door locks when you say “Yale”
Best of luck to you 21’ers.
@Theoddorre Army is the fandom’s name of BTS, a South Korean boyband.
Guys I accidentally put my combined ELA score into the Common App instead of the Writing test score for the ACT. I just noticed that. Do you think this will affect chances? I don’t want them to think I deceived them.
@MinSuga I’ve heard rumors from my GC. He intimated different results but who really knows. They’re not allowed to tell.
@pocrocodro I doubt it will. I’d like to think they realize that that section of the common App is actually confusingly vague and you are definitely not the only one to do that
@snuffles168 Seriously? That is a great sign. The timing of it means that your local admission reader wants to take your application to the full committee, and wants your senior year grades to make as good a case as possible for you!
Ugh, I am freaking out. One of my teachers decided not to “do” quarter grades (which don’t count for anything at my school), so most kids ended up with a C for the quarter because she didn’t enter any assignments. Otherwise I have a 4.0.
so if they asked for Q1 grades does that mean that the regional admissions officer is considering you to bring to the committee or does everyone have to submit Q1 grades?
Do counselors know if we got in or not?
I emailed the Crimson staff writer who wrote the article on EA results from last year. This is a different staff writer than the one who wrote the article saying “December 13th”.
The staff writer emailed be back and said: “I believe they will be released this Tuesday, the 13th.” Last year she was given the EA results before the 5pm deadline so she could write her article and have it ready to go.
For what it is worth…
what do you all think you are gonna do if you get in? i mean, party or ask parents for a present, or something like that.
@yuvanni probably wake up
Does anyone know if Harvard has data on how many people apply from each country every year? If not, are there any third party sites that have made estimates?
The reason I ask is because otherwise, the # accepted per year doesn’t tell me much. It’s in the very low single digits for my country, but I come from a very small country so it’s probably actually a disproportionately high number. Seeing how many people apply each year would be very helpful.
I’ll probably cry for a few hours if I get in lol. I’ll be too much of a mess to actually party of do something. Plus, I have to study to exams and stuff.
@eridan1 I am also looking for something like this. There are currently 8 French people in H but considering how many ppl live in France…
If I get in, I’ll have to go straight to studying for finals, and working on scholarships…
Can you guys check out my last thread and give me your opinions?
