Haven’t heard of other colleges giving 2 interviews.

Hi. I applied SCEA, and I got deferred. I thought I had no chances, but the admissions office called my volunteering organizations. The advisor at my organization and the individual from Harvard called for 45 minute about my organization after my deferral. Is this a good sign?
I think this is a good sign 
It means that they are considering your app! Did you ask your advisor what their conversation was about?
Their conversation was more about what we do within that volunteer organization and what my role was as well. I was just a little iffy because I didn’t really see situations where students got calls after a deferral. I also didn’t get an interview because of issues with my portal.

i got an interview in January but have not heard from the admissions office about anything after that. I indicated on my app that I’m applying for finaid but haven’t submitted my CSS (and didn’t get any emails asking for missing materials). Does it mean I have no hope? :((
what are the chances of second interviews and why do people get them?
@kerlykerls: Most applicants receive just ONE interview conducted by an alumni of the school. Occasionally, a senior Admissions Director will want to interview an applicant prior to presenting them to the full committee. That’s what happened in this instance.
FWIW: Neither of my kids were ever interviewed by an AO, and between them they were accepted to HYP plus a bunch of other top schools, so not being interviewed a second time doesn’t mean that your chances are decreased.
