I think its because the likes/ dislikes seem a little arbitrary...

thank you invoyable. yeah i just don't like dartmouth..
but i really like New York and Cambridge, so that's why i really wanna go to either Columbia or Harvard. Just love those areas :)

can anyone answer my question about the extra essay? can I write a supplementary essay talking about how bad I want to go there?

his reasons aren't arbitrary at all. He wants to go to school in a nice city, among other things. Dartmouth is not one of those schools.

Regarding the supplementary essay, I'm pretty sure harvard gives you an opportunity on their applicaiton to submit an extra essay. WIth that said, I'm not sure I would make it about how much you want to go there, unless you can actually think reasons besides the usual generic ones (in boston, great programs, etc.) Instead, I would recommend writing something that shows another side of your personality/qualities that perhaps wasn't demonstrated in any other part of your app. Good luck I hope you get in.

thanks cory. :) I really hope i get in too. I would finally feel that all my hard work was worth it.

oh and one more question!
