Harvard Law

Could someone informed and with spare time on their hands give an example of stats that would be considered for Harvard Law School?

bump.......

Just a guess... but you are either in high school or you are a Tufts student. If it is the former, please do not worry about Harvard Law now. If it is the latter... there are a few Tufts students every year who get into HLS. If my memory serves me correctly, the average LSAT of the admitted students to HLS is about a 170 or 171 and the average GPA is about a 3.7 or 3.8 - of Tufts students.

Generally speaking, if your GPA and LSAT are average or above average for the school you are considering, then you would be considered a competitive candidate.

If you are a Tufts student - junior or senior - then make an appt. with the pre-law advisor. She's wonderfully helpful and encouraging. She'll be able to tell you, once you take the LSAT, what a good group of schools are for you to apply to. She can also take your list and pretty much say where you will get in or where you won't get in.

Dude isn't in HS LOL

Ack, completely missed the Age: 27 thing. Also just saw a post re: the Tufts REAL programme (which I know almost nothing about). Okay, so we have a prospective, older Jumbo here.

My advice stands, with perhaps some slack for being a significantly older student. Talk to the pre-law advisor (a dean).

Yah, I am looking to go to Tufts next year...but just out of curiosity why did you assume I was High school or Tufts? I am not really worrying about it, but just curious. Whats a Jumbo?

If you want a realistic chance, a GPA over 3.7 and an LSAT score over 170 is pretty standard. I personally have known of very few successful applicants with GPAs under 3.8 and LSATs under 172.

To answer your questions....

Location = Medford, Ma. That's Tufts. :)

Jumbo is PT Barnum's elephant, whose hide was donated to the school after a train wreck killed said elephant. It has since become the Tufts mascot - so Tufties are "Jumbos."
