Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

True dat @XoXdreamerXoX Sorry, my brain can’t math today
Now I get to live with this feeling of slight unease for the next THREE months

I got my interview 25 hours after I submitted my application… is this normal? Could it be a good sign or is just random? I have great scores if that means anything

@jetynz It could also just mean that there are fewer applicants per interviewer for your area.

@jetynz dude i havent even received my interview invitation xD good luck!

Is this interview mandatory? I just got the email and found it it was going to be in the alum’s home?

@Chrysanthemum14 Interviews are usually held in public spaces, not an alum’s home. That’s weird. Just see if you can pick another location.

Just contacted about an interview. Does anyone know the importance of the interview to Harvard? I know at Penn it doesn’t really matter, but I have heard otherwise about Harvard

@QueenN22 okay I PM’d you. thanks!

@Chrysanthemum14 my interview was also at the alum’s home and there were two people being interviewed by two different people so it made it more comfortable! It actually went very smoothly and made it a bit more casual.

I haven’t been contacted yet, and I don’t live in an area where an overwhelming amount of people apply… I have gotten the portal info though

I have not received information for the status portal. Has anyone else not received it?

Neither have I, but I am international so I assume that it takes longer for my application to be processed.

I’m international as well but I got the portal right after I submitted my appl

I wrote my essay in third person about confidence and setting goals. It wasn’t a first person essay like most students submit. Will this hurt me?

I don’t think so! I actually think that’s creative and may stand out well depending on how you wrote it

Am I the only one who thinks they have no chance at getting accepted after reading the stats of all the kids accepted from here?? But I mean it’s better to expect nothing and get nothing than expect something and get nothing!

@afamelas CC is not an accurate representation of the whole applicant pool. Plus you never know their essays, etc. You also don’t know if they are telling the truth

@BlackHuntress thanks. I was really getting worried but you saved my day.

Got contacted by my interviewer yesterday. Really excited, especially because I didn’t really expect an interview because I didn’t think there were any alumni in my area.

@Snowbuddy Are you using a school-based email? I didn’t receive an email from another college and it turned out that my school server blocked a lot of emails from the schools I applied to for random reasons… I like how my school would not block spams and ads but rather important emails from colleges.
