Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

hmm interesting… im just waiting on harvard stanford pton and maybe columbia/dart now (i haven’t heard of many people getting these)

How did it go? Anything interesting?

@kuriosmind @XoXdreamerXoX - It seems that Harvard alumnus are contacting applicants 1 to 2 weeks after application has been submitted. My interview request came in around 1 week after.

Just had my interview, they contacted me a couple days after I submitted my application. Then again, I haven’t had any other interview requests from ivies, yet while my friends have. It’s all random and up to the interviewers I guess! For those who have done their interview, how do you think it went? My interviewer wasn’t writing much stuff down as we talked, and it seemed odd as (I thought) we were having a lively conversation.

Just got done with my interview. Went extremely well. She was SUPER nice and down to earth. Really clicked with her. Best of luck to everyone else.

Hey everyone! I’m super excited to be applying and just wanted to join the discussion! Haven’t had my interview yet but got an email about it. And for my supplement I wrote about my obsession with online stranger chatting simply because it showed my quirkiness (I tried to make it funny and think I succeeded but idk for sure…)

I feel eerily unbothered about the decision. When is the stress gonna set in?!

@APrincetonian omg Same like I really love the place but I feel this random sense of calm XD

Aw I was in this boat two years ago (worst time of my life, lol) Good luck, guys. Try not to let the stress get to you!! xo

@khpearl I don’t want to be nosy, but did you get into any of your top schools? And where do you go now?

Waitlisted at 4 Ivies, got into Cornell and Harvard. Go to Harvard currently.

@khpearl - How did you get into Cornell and Harvard and wait listed @ 4 ivies? Have they sent RD decision letters yet?

Oh no, that was two years ago. Right now I am a college sophomore. I got my RD letter in like late March from Harvard.

Why is everyone talking about stress? It isn’t a very stressful concept, you apply then find out if you’re accepted a few months later.

@khpearl - thanks.

I know the interview doesn’t hold much weight in the decision, yet I still feel it’s dependent on the applicant. Although I love the school very much and would attend if accepted, I’m not the ideal candidate on paper and that’s due to extenuating circumstances. I didn’t get an interview but I feel like it would add another perspective of me for the admissions office to assess. It just isn’t ideal to be in this position because everything but the GPA and SAT are excellent.

Hi, does anyone know when Harvard will send the non-athletic Likely Letters to applicants this year?
And can international students get Likely Letters?
Thanks

Hi! I submitted my application around mid-December. Have not gotten any information on interview or contacted. Does that mean I will not be interviewed?

@PWANG96 In an email from Dartmouth, it said that schools conduct interviews for RD from mid December to late February, so you could still be contacted anytime within the next six weeks. Interviews are assigned randomly and not having one does not indicate your chances of admissions. Although, I think if they were strongly considering you and you haven’t had an interview by March, the admissions office would arrange one for you (just the speculations of another applicant).

So my teacher letter recommendations never made it to Harvard (snail mail) or they made it to Harvard and got lost there. I’m guessing it’s the latter, because they made it to my other schools okay and both are missing. So, they wanted myself or my teachers to fax them in. Anyone else having a similar issue?
