Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

@aposnova I think @Fireball99 is talking about the email from Harvard’s financial aid office sent yesterday, not to be mistaken by the ones from the College Board.

The one from Harvard had the subject “Financial Aid Tips.”

I think everyone whose applying for Aid got it

Ugh I still haven’t gotten my IDOC ID.

Do regular admitted students get T-shirts (like their early admit counterparts)? Random, but curious

Just had my interview. It went VERY well. We spent most of the time talking about music (she knew about kpop & jpop :D), the music industry, books, and psychology in life.

My interview two weeks ago was good; I almost think the interview process for colleges is interesting and informative enough to be worth it regardless of its real impact on the admissions process.

anyone get a likely letter yet?

Hey everyone! I recognize some of you from other colleges’ threads.

I applied RD for Political Science.

My interview was two weeks ago - it was fantastic, and I enjoyed it even if I don’t get in. My interviewer had a ton of insight into the world and I feel like we really connected (although he had a PhD in math!!) so it was a rewarding and engaging experience no matter the result.

@Bleu2020 I don’t think so, I just searched through some Harvard 2019 tags and there’s a lot of pamphlets and some stickers I think. I’m not sure if the ivies generally give out shirts anyways, my friend got into Columbia last year and he said he just got a poster lol

@Bleu2020 Honestly I’ve never heard of people getting shirts, although I did get a bumper sticker from NEU EA??

My interview went wonderfully. My interviewer seemed to have a lot to say about the world and the future and gave me lots of advice. My biggest concern was one question he asked; “how do you feel about your scores compared to the rest of your school?” I didn’t want to go right out and state that I have the highest scores and didn’t want to make it seem like I thought myself much more intelligent than my classmates, so I just said my scores were all in the 99th percentile for my school.

How does Harvard treat extra SAT Subject Test scores?

@XoXdreamerXoX That’s great! You seem humble! I read a blog from someone who used to volunteer giving interviews…it was very insightful. I can post it here if I find it…

@aBitOfLuck - Here is what Harvard’s website says.

You can also use them to skip ahead in languages.

@whitespace Thanks! I hope the first two are the only ones that count lol

@aBitOfLuck I would imagine that Harvard AOs will look at every score you send in. They aren’t going to just take the first two that they see and ignore anything past it when it is likely listed right next to it.

@whitespace My top two are strong, but I also have a lower one :-S ; my GC told me to send everything. I’m hoping the (slightly) lower one won’t sink my boat automatically.

ok thanks for answering my Q about the shirts lol
and btw yale sent out Tshirts! (so that’s one ivy haha)

Based on previous years’ patterns, when do you predict decisions will be out? Any other big schools (i.e. Penn, Cornell, Duke, Chicago, Washu)?

I would guess Ivies will all release decisions on March 31st. (It’s a Thursday)

Does anyone know when/if likely letters have been sent out?
